Results of Elecard's latest benchmarks of AV1 compared to HEVC
Here are the latest performance results for AV1 reference codecs. Elecard engineers have encoded video sequences to compare performance of video codecs and quality of final video.
The following fragment was coded for further analysis of encoding parameters. Click here for more AV1 video sequences.
The most intriguing result obtained after analysis of the data lies in the fact that the developed codec AV1 is currently equal in its performance with HEVC.

Note: AV1 standard is work in progress. The given streams are encoded with AV1 update of 2017.01.31 (commit befcc42572b88c6ff983d1000fa4eddc4bb41f26). If you try to playback the stream using other AV1 commits, it may not be played properly.
